New year brings new bans

Two Kansas towns are hoping to clear the air in 2009 with smoking bans. After granting extensions to half a dozen businesses, Derby's ban took full effect Thursday. A ban in Winfield begins Friday.

- When possible, drive your car. I can take a gallon jug of milk on board if I want to. I can watch my computer to my heart's content. I don't have to listen to children crying or screaming--mine are all grown up! I don't have to put up with rank smells from other passengers.

- My son in law did this very same thing. He didn't tell us why he was letting his hair grow out and my husband was getting upset about it. Lo and behold he came for Christmas with his normal short hair. Only then did he tell us why he was growing his hair out.

- Maybe not when you are sitting in the actual driver's seat with ACCESS to the brakes. But when you are driving over the back of a seat and cannot get to the brakes because a DEAD BODY is in the way, I think it would be pretty challenging and I have been driving since 1966.

- I live in Kansas and have personally had a cougar aka mountain lion cross the road in front of my car. I reported it to Kansas Fish and Game and was told I was mistaken that I had seen a bobcat.

Perry has shown by his actions that he was very insensitive to blacks, however I would not agree. They are more conservative than Republicans as the Rep. has gone left of center. The Rep. stopped slavery, and most tea party members are Christian which as i understand it - believe all are one race created by God thru Jesus Christ One is not more superior than the other. There wasn't a white Adam, then a black Adam..and so on.

There are always different beliefs among groups, even though it may not be the view of the group.

The Tea Party believes as I undersatnd it is - That people should not be given something for nothing, or the redidtribution of wealth. When you were in school and worked hard to make an A, but the teacher didnt want to flunk anyone, so they gave all C's, then that is the same as redistribution...its wrong, and should not be viewed as racist but some call it that.
